Our laboratory observes the effects of exercise on mitochondrial dynamics focusing primarily on marker discovery and principal mechanisms. MARCH5 protein plays a pivotal role in maintaining mitochondrial dynamics and homeostasis by affecting mitochondrial fusion and fission. We intend to explore the role of the mitochondrial E3 ubiquitin ligase, MARCH5, in the context of exercise training.
